Unlike any other mountain ridge in the UK, this two day challenge poses an alpine scale challenge with it's sustained scrambling and climbing, exposed positions and big height gains and descents. Not to be underestimated, the Cuillin traverse will drain not only physical reseves but test your mental grit as we spend two days in highly exposed situations. Still sounds good - read more....
When booking our guided traverse, we will book a 3 day window with the hope of doing a 2 day (1 night bivy) on the best two of those three days. If we don't think there is a weather window suitable for a traverse then your guide will provide three individual day trips, taking in as much of the ridge as possible. This will be discussed with you close to your chosen dates.
A ridge traverse is a serious physical undertaking and we only reccomend it to those who consider themselves to be fit and active hill walkers. You can expect a 13 hour day on day one and a 10 hour day on the second day. If you are in any doubt about your suitability for a traverse we reccomend discussing this prior to booking.
Variations are possible - we can offer 4 day bookings and 3 day traverse for those more concerned about fitness, however this makes a weather window less likely. We can also offer 1 day traverses, however this is a challenge that even the fittest hillwalkers are unlikely to acheive, hill/skyrunning experience would be needed to consider this an option.
Additional kit you will require when booking a traverse;
Bivvy Bag - simple, lightweight models such as the Alpkit Hunka are suitable.
Sleeping bag - a lightweight 2 to 3 season bag
Evening meal & breakfast - dehydrated evening meal (and maybe breakfast), avoid hydrated meals as these are heavy and add unneccesary weight.
Mug and Spoon - lightweight models again to avoid additional weight

Had an awesome day smashing the Cuillin Ridge in a day with Josh (although be warned, don’t go for it in a day unless you love punishment). Very friendly, chilled and absolutely knows his stuff!! 100% recommend!

My wife and I booked Josh to lead us up Ben Nevis in early March. Without a doubt the best decision we made when planning our trip! We had 100% confidence in his leadership and he made us feel very comfortable. Most important - he made us feel safe.
